Emergency

One day when I was dropping Emma off, her teacher informed me that they would be testing the emergency alarm that morning. When I picked her up, I asked her about it.
Amy: Did the loud sound go off today?
Emma: Yes, the emergency alarm went off.
Amy: But it was just for practice, right?
Emma: No, (wide-eyed) there was a real emergency!
Amy: There was? What was it?
Emma: Somebody had a loose tooth!

She absolutely insists that this is the reason the alarm sounded!

A Few Things About School

Well, Emma is loving school!

-There's someone new in her life-her teacher. Here is a conversation we had earlier in the week:
Emma: My teacher told me to start my E's on the top. How come you never told me to start my E's on the top?
Amy: I did tell you to start your E's on the top.
Emma: No, you didn't. You never told me to start my E's on the top.
(Repeat the above 2 more times)
Amy: OK, Emma, start your E's on the top.

-Emma loves Superheroes and she told me she got to be the hero today. When the dinosaurs went missing, everyone had to search. Emma found them in the Home Living refrigerator and her teacher said "Emma, you're our hero." She was thrilled.

-The number one thing she has learned is this: "You get what you get and you don't pitch a fit!" She uses this on her sister all the time. I'm not sure she will appreciate it coming from me.
