The Happiest Place on Earth

My family and I just got back from Disney World-“The happiest place on earth.” It is a pretty happy place. Both of my girls love it. They love the Buzz Lightyear ride and the High School Musical show. Emma loves getting the character's autographs and Caitlin loves watching shows with princesses.

But, even happiest place on earth can't keep you happy forever. Johnny talked Emma into riding Big Thunder Mountain (She was about a hair's breadth over the 40 inch mark). At four years old, it was her first roller coaster and when she came off of that ride, she was definitely not happy--shocked, but not happy. Caitlin was not happy while we waited in line for the Candle Light Processional at Epcot. She cried (screamed is a better word) for ten minutes straight before finally falling asleep. And I was not happy the next day when she did her best arch the back and throw the head back move while sitting in my lap and busted my lip. Nope, even the happiest place on earth can't keep you happy forever.

But I know something that can last forever. Joy! Joy came into the world when Jesus came into the world as a tiny baby on Christmas so long ago. Jesus our Saviour, who died for our sins, is always with us, and will come again. The joy we have in Jesus doesn't come and go. We can always be joyful.

“Rejoice in the Lord, always, again I say rejoice” (Phi. 4:4)
