Just When You Think You're Invisible

In the last couple of months Caitlin and I have gotten in the habit of stopping at McDonald's after Bible Study on Wednesdays. A couple of weeks ago, she decided that she wanted a pink (strawberry) sundae. You know pink is her favorite color and everything must be pink. I told her that she should at least eat some lunch first. So I made her order a kids meal of chicken nuggets and fries first because I knew that nutritionally that would be much better than just a strawberry sundae. So I got the food and realized after we left that they forgot(of all things) the strawberry sundae-and I wasn't going back. Caitlin was not happy, but she got over it.
But this week the most remarkable thing happened. When I was picking up her food from the drive thru window, the woman said "you know what? I owe you a strawberry sundae." I laughed so hard and I still can't believe that she remembered. So Caitlin got her strawberry sundae and I got a reminder that we are never invisible. Having just come from Bible Study, it reminded me that God knows everything about me and in fact, knows me by name.
I guess it also means I've become a regular at McDonald's--Ouch!
